Mussolini and Il-sung
In Italy, the people saw Mussolini as a strong capable leader who put Italy on the right track. He sought to bring Italy back to its former glory of the Roman Empire. Kim Il-sung also aimed to bring North Korea to its greatness. Both leaders established oppressive regimes in order to implement harsh laws and impose their beliefs on their people.

North/South Korea and East/West Berlin
While the Berlin Wall physically separated East and West Berlin, extreme political differences differentiates North and South Korea. Both divisions were caused around the time of the Cold War with the United States supporting one side and the Soviet Union supporting the other. North Korea and East Berlin were both under US care and enjoyed more freedom and democratic government. On the other hand, South Korea and West Berlin were under Soviet Union guidance and had oppressive, totalitarian government established.

Stalin and Il-sung
Il-sung admired Stalin's totalitarian rule and implemented many of the same ideas. Like Stalin, Il-sun established a cult of personality -- where he utilized media and propaganda to make himself appear heroic.
